Laguna Beach
Our first day in California we went straight to the beach. We went to thousand steps beach in Laguna. It was a cloudy day so we had the beach all to ourselves. When we got down to the sand there were some workers who were doing some painting on a house nearby who yelled at us to look in the water. At first I didn't understand them and then heard them yell DOLPHINS. I turned around to see these two dolphins playing in the water. It was so cool!! We were all so excited. They got pretty close to the kids at one point but then started to swim along the coast and away from us.

Getting Ready for California
Grandma and Grandpa Wahlstrom surprised us with an early graduation present. They had been saving a Disneyland fund for us and since we had earned free tickets by volunteering they gave it to us early to use on our trip. This was us rolling all of the change they had saved for us! It was just enough to be able to go to Disneyland a second day. Thanks Mom and Dad. We love you!

Jerrod's 13th Birthday
Jerrod is officially a teenager. For his big birthday Derek took him and his friends, Alex, Alan, and Samantha to see Iron Man 2. After the movie we had pizza and cake at our house. He was very excited to get a new phone. He had been researching different cell phones for almost a year since he just got his Dad's old one last year. Jerrod, we are so proud of you. We get so many compliments on this kid. Everyone who knows him can see what a good kid (teenager!) he is!

Ragball
Every Spring our church has a month of ragball for the kids. Ragball is just softball with a slightly softer ball. Since it usually is at the same time of year as soccer we have a hard time gathering an entire team. One week we were short and combined with another ward and they let Ava play. She loved it, and she wasn't bad! So from that moment on she would ask every night how many more sleeps until ragball.
