Make Yourself Comfortable

Our dog Rusty is very cuddly and can sleep in the funniest positions so I thought I would snap this picture of Derek and the dogs resting. What a rough life they have!

What a Fun Week!!

On Sunday, Jerrod flew to Phoenix to see his friend Austin. They had a great time. I'll have him do a post all about his trip when he gets home from camp.

Sunday night the Cochran family came to see us while they are out west. We miss them so much. It was so good to see them. We haven't seen them since JD graduated from UNR medical school 2 years ago! Who knows, maybe we'll end up in Texas with them for residency.

On Monday, we got to see the Green Family who moved to Utah a few months ago. We let the girls skip school and went to swim with them at the South Point. After Derek got out of surgery for the day we all headed down to St. George to spend more time with the Cochran Family. We picked up some Cafe Rio and headed to the temple to have a picnic.

After our picnic we headed back to Hayley's Mom's condo and went swimming and Derek did some adjustments on some willing patients. We all had a lot of fun and didn't want to leave!

On Friday I got to see another good friend from Reno!! Stephanie flew in to meet up with her husband Brian who was down for a work conference. After picking her up from the airport went to lunch at Cheesecake Factory and then came home to say hi to the kids and Derek. Derek cracked her neck and got her all adjusted and then she headed to meet up with Brian.

Later Friday night my friend Kiley and I went to see Il Divo in concert. Derek was more than willing to give up his ticket! We had a lot of fun. Although we were one of the youngest ones in the crowd we enjoyed the music and the people watching! There were a lot of passionate senior citizen fans there! These guys weren't that hard to look at either! Plus it was FREE!! Nothing to lose.

Saturday, we got up early to get Jerrod off to scout camp. He is near San Diego for an entire week! We are missing him already but I'm sure that he is having a great time.

Saturday night Derek and I got to go to the B52s concert at Pure nightclub inside Caesars Palace. It was so fun. We were so close to the stage and had a blast. Afterward we went up to the nightclub patio where they had a great view of the strip. It started to rain and after finishing our six dollar cokes we decided to go hang out with the Mendiolas. I am kicking myself for not getting a picture but we had a nice dinner with Brian and Stephanie at Noodles in the Bellagio. It was so great to see them.

Family Update

A lot of exciting things are happening in the Crouch house. First, Derek is officially a 3rd year medical student which is really exciting. He is done with the classroom work and now gets to do rotations. He started his first rotation in anesthesia last week and has had a lot of fun. Next month he takes his first board exam which is probably one of the biggest tests of his life. He will be studying hard for that for the next six weeks. I am so proud of him. Jerrod gets to fly out to Arizona on Sunday to see his friend Austin and then he comes back and leaves for scout camp for a week down near San Diego. He has been working with some other young men for our Bishop pulling weeds out in the 104 degree weather to earn most of the money to go. He is such a good kid. I will miss him! I can't believe it is already July. Where has the year gone?

4th of July BBQ

We have made some great friends throughout the last 2 years of medical school. We were lucky enough to have some of them join us for a barbecue at our house yesterday. We try to feed them well so they will come back! We tried to play outside for a bit but it was hot. We set up our mister to help cool us off but Ava used it as a personal sprayer to get wet. How can anyone not love the 4th of July!!

Ava, Remi and Emma

We gave the dogs a little treat to stay cool.

4th of July Fireworks

This year we went to the new M Resort to watch fireworks with a group of our medical school friends and Uncle Jason. They hosted a family friendly event by the pool and we had a great view of the fireworks. Uncle Jason bought the kids some fireworks that we got to set off in our cul-de-sac after we got home. We had a great day!

Ira must have been missing his wife last night because he turned to the bottle and a blanket to comfort himself. Claudia you better come home soon!

All American Reject Concert

Friday, Derek and I got the opportunity to go to the All American Reject concert at the Mandalay Bay beach. It was really fun. We got to stand in the water throughout the concert which helped us stay cool. Gotta love free tickets!!

Rock Climbing

With the girls back in school it has just been me, Jerrod and Ava hanging out during the day. Last week Jerrod and his friend Jacob wanted to go climb the rock wall at Bass Pro Shops. They did pretty good! I have to admit that Jacob definitely went farther but they both had a great time.
