Dodger Game

Grandma and Grandpa Wahlstrom came down for the long weekend and Grandpa took the boys to L.A. on Sunday to go to a Dodger game. They had a great time. The girls got to stay home, go to church and then we watched movies and had treats. We had a great weekend!

Jerrod's Broken Toe

On Thursday night, Jerrod stubbed his toe on the leg of the couch and broke his toe. I knew they wouldn't do anything for it even if it was broken so I just held off and thought we would see if it started to feel better at all but on Friday it looked pretty bruised so I thought I should probably get it checked. We had just been to urgent care two days earlier for a bug bite on his same leg that had gotten infected and had started to swell. It is just a small buckle fracture so it should heal nicely and they gave him a pretty shoe to help protect it. He has a tough kid throughout his ordeal though.

Barbeque at the Mann's

At the end of every Medical School block a bunch of families go and celebrate over at Nate and Jenn Mann's house. They have a great backyard and are awesome hosts! They have four kids too so we like hanging out with them. It makes us feel normal :) They had a fun inflatable water slide and 2 pinatas. We had a great time. Thanks Nate and Jenn!

The cutest Hannah Montana ever!

Now that you've seen the cutest........here is the weirdest :)

Derek has to be a good sport with all of the girls in the house.

One Down Three to Go!

Derek finished his first year of medical school last week. Almost all of his grades are posted and he officially passed his first year. Whew! I am so proud of him. After experiencing a full-time class schedule plus trying to be a mom and fulfill all my other responsibilities, I have a tremendous amount of admiration for all that he has done. I always knew it was hard but I just appreciate it more now. I finished also last Thursday but started back up on Monday with an accelerated Anatomy and Physiology class that is 4 hours a day, 4 days a week.

Derek also got a good opportunity to help earn some income this summer by selling pest control, so if any of our Vegas friends need a bug guy PLEASE call the Crouch family. He started yesterday and got three sells which is good. It's not our idea of a perfect summer together but because of some student loan set backs we didn't have a choice. But, we feel blessed to have this opportunity also.

My mom and dad are coming to Vegas on Friday for the long weekend and Derek and Jerrod get to go with my dad and my brother to L.A. on Sunday to catch a Dodger's game. My dad had shoulder surgery and has a month off of work so we are excited to be able to spend some time with them!

Jerrod's School Play

Jerrod's class put on a play yesterday at school. It was set up like a game show called "Name this American" and it taught the kids about some cool Americans in our history. Jerrod got to be the host, Uncle Sam. He did really good. He had all of his lines memorized and everything. Way to go Jerrod!!

Jerrod's Party

Jerrod had a great party on his birthday. He had a couple of friends over and they had a water gun fight, played wii, and ate pizza!

Alan, Shakti, and Jerrod post water fight

Look at the resemblance!! Amazing!

Look at how excited he is about the poster Uncle Jason got him!

Swimming at Uncle Jason's Pool

Yesterday, the kids were hot in our 90 degree house and begged to go to Uncle Jason's apartment complex and go swimming. The water was so cold but they didn't seem to mind. We took our neighbor Victoria who is in Jerrod's class. They had fun.

She is such a poser!

Allison's Sign Design Performance

Since January, Allison has been involved in an after school program called "Sign Design Theater" where they teach the kids sign language while involving them acting or dance. We got to watch her perform last week and I thought she did so good. I was very proud! I posted the video for you to check out! We also just found out today that she qualified for the GATE program next year which is for the gifted and talented students. WOW! We have great kids!

Emma's Citizenship Award

Ever since the beginning of the school year when Allison and Jerrod both received Star Student of the month citizenship awards, Emma has been waiting patiently for her turn. She just knew she was going to get it and she was right! This month the school focused on educational goals which her teacher thought fit her perfectly. After all, she has almost all 100%s on her report card! They had an assembly on Tuesday to recognize all of the students and then the students got to have a McDonald's lunch with the principal.
