The Greatest Concert Ever!

I realized that I forgot to post about the U2/ Black Eyed Peas concert we went to on October 23. I don't even know how to describe how cool it was. When the tickets first came on sale in April and I saw you could get one for $30 I knew it would be money well worth it but it was seriously the best show that we have ever seen and probably will ever see. There is something about seeing 40,000 fans cheering on a band and knowing all the words to their songs. U2 played for over 2 hours. They were so good!! If they ever go on tour again you have to see them!! Jason was able to get these pics from his phone.

Halloween Night

We had a great Halloween. We had our friends Rob, Liz, Ira, and Claudia and uncle Jason come over for chili and then we all went trick or treating with the kids. Jerrod's friend Shakti joined in on the fun. We found lots of friends from our ward in the neighborhood and had a great time with them. When we were done we were giving our friends Brandon and Kiley a ride back to their car Kiley asked me if Emma was with us and we realized we had left her behind. Luckily she didn't even realize it yet!! The whole night I was counting all of the kids and then before we left I didn't do it. Oh well. After trick or treating we all came back for some delicious kitty litter box cake which tasted pretty good. Derek and the kids had a great time shaping the tootsie rolls for it! Thanks to everyone who joined us and made our night fun!!

Jerrod and Ava changed up their costumes from the Trunk or Treat. Uncle Jason used the Burger King costume for work so Jerrod wore that and Ava decided to be Sleeping Beauty again. I think she just didn't want to dye her hair black again!

This girl has her uncle wrapped around her little finger!!

Pumpkin Carving

This year we waited until Halloween to carve our pumpkins which made them hard to find. Everyone was sold out but we finally found a store that had some left. The kids had a great time and now that they are getting bigger it is less work for us!! Derek even got to join in for the first time in many years. We love having him home more!!

Here are our masterpieces. Allison did Jack from Nightmare before Christmas, Derek's is the skeleton, Ava's is the dog, Emma's is the pirate skull, Jerrod's is the face and mine is the jack o lantern.

Trunk or Treat

On Thursday our ward had its annual Trunk or Treat. It is always a lot of fun. This year it was COLD but that didn't stop the kids from getting a ton of candy. The big draw is always the caterpillar ride that the Thomson family brings along. One of the girls told her friend that the way this event works is you just keep going around the parking lot til everyone runs out of candy which is so true!

Cheer Club

Emma is a member of her school's cheerleading club and they got to go cheer for a J.V. football game last week at Liberty High School. She has been practicing her cheers for weeks and did a great job. I am trying to get a copy of a video to post since our camcorder was stolen but for now the pictures will have to do.

Harvest Festival

I have catching up to do again. October was a busy month for us. We found out that Derek passed his board exam!! YEAH!! I am so proud of him. It was a beast of a test and we are just so happy he passed. He is now done with his OB/GYN rotation and is starting orthopaedic surgery on Monday which he is very excited about!! I can't believe how fast time is flying by. I am over half way done with my semester of school which means I am already almost half way done with the program. Crazy!!

A few weeks ago the girls had a Harvest Festival at their school so I took them while the boys went to a Las Vegas Wrangler hockey game. The girls had a great time and we came home with two new goldfish, only one of which made it through to the next day. Oh well.
