Lots to Catch Up on

We haven't posted in a while so it's time to catch up on our news. Derek had Thursday and Friday of last week off from school due to a Jewish holiday so it was nice for him to be able to have a few days with us. All of his block exams were over so he didn't have any studying to do. He has another holiday this weekend too!! Last week, Jerrod came home and told us he was running for Student Council and he had to have a sign done the next day so luckily Dad was home to help him out with that.

Unfortunately, he lost out to a girl who promised no homework Mondays and to bring candy to the school. The little Liar! :)

Friday, The Payne family, (some friends from Arizona) called and said that they were coming down for the weekend, so Jerrod got to hang out with Austin. He had a lot of fun and we had a lot of fun seeing them. Saturday morning Jerrod took Austin with him to a scout field trip they had planned at the Shark Reef at Mandalay bay.

After the scout field trip, Derek took the boys to the skate park and then we took the kids out to the resort Austin's family was staying at so they could swim for a little while. Derek, me and the girls all went to a bbq with some of Derek's classmates. It was fun to meet some of the wives. Then we met up with the Payne family at the strip and went to see the fountains at the Bellagio again. Then we went to the Mirage to see the Volcano. The boys were begging to go see the Luxor. Ever since they saw the show Mindfreak with Criss Angel, they have been obsessed with that place. For those of you who have no idea who Criss Angel is, he is a magician who does some pretty cool stuff and he films most of his stuff in Las Vegas and has levitated in the Luxor. We went to the Luxor and the Criss Angel store was closed. Jerrod had a mini meltdown but I reassured him we could go back sometime in the next four years. They had some of the mindfreak motorcycles on display so we took a couple of pictures of them. It was a fun weekend!
